The Role:

The primary objective of the Business Analyst role within Software Services team is to provide necessary business administration support in day to day management of IBM software ELA.

The aim of the IBM ELA Business Analyst is to ensure the customer support across the Group, accuracy of IBM software inventory to allow for ease of financial reporting and software asset management.

The Business Analyst will work alongside IBM Subject Matter Expert and IBM Software Services Manager and have the following responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of monthly and annual mainframe licensing reports;
  • Conduct internal IBM software audits and ensure compliance;
  • Co-ordinate and analyse installation reports and reports on underlying hardware from IT Engineering for internal and external audit purposes.
  • Keep software asset records up to date to ensure accurate compliance and financial reporting;
  • Create and use License Reuse reports to confirm availability of unused licenses;
  • Receive IBM software orders from the Group;
  • Prepare cost effective quotes based on the best license practise;
  • Keep a record of approved request for inclusion in Monthly Subscription Charge;
  • Organise software file downloads, delivery and in some cases installation;
  • Maintain IBM software asset records in FNMP;
  • Provide assistance with all IBM general enquires on the ELA, prices, processes and other, as received through IBM software mailbox and other channels;


The Requirements:

In order to apply for this unique, challenging and highly rewarding opportunity with a high level of exposure to Senior Stakeholders and a genuine effect on the banks bottom line, it is essential that you have worked in a similar capacity within a similar large scale operation recently and can demonstrate the following skills:
  • IBM mainframe licensing knowledge
  • IBM distributed software licensing knowledge
  • Experience managing the development and execution of technology enabled change programs/projects
  • Understanding of Project Methodologies
  • Reporting & advanced data analysis experience
  • Detailed knowledge of systems management processes
