Job Title:Software Developer - Data Specialist
Description:The job

We have deployed a new database called One Tick and we are looking for a software developer to be responsible for a broad range of tasks including data collection, analysis tooling and helping traders and developers to optimise their queries.

You will be involved in managing all aspects of the software development and data lifecycle. If you are looking for a role which will enable you to use both your analytical and development skills then this could be the right role for you!

What are the skills you will need?

•OO Development including C++, Java, C#
•strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
•exposure or experience working with financial or time series data sets
•recent graduates are welcome to submit their application, or those with at least 2 years commercial programming experience
•a keen interest in learning new technologies, but experience in technologies that we currently use would be advantageous: C++, python and general linux skills
•can communicate technical concepts to non-developers

Who will stand out from the crowd?
•Experience or interest in time series databases such as KDB, Hadoop or OneTick
•a trading/research assistant with strong programming skills
•finance background
•understanding of RDBMS
