What you will be doing: Your job will be to make our automated trading systems fast. Very fast. And if they can’t be made fast quickly, make new ones that are. Quickly. You’ll be charged with mentoring other developers in the dark arts of building low latency software as well as researching and integrating new technologies into our systems as the opportunities arise. What you will need: •5 years+ experience with C, C++, Linux & Linux System Internals, C++ frameworks, writing latency optimised software. •A detailed understanding of multiprocessing hardware architecture, including recent technology advances. •Experience profiling and tuning application performance at the microsecond level. •Thorough understanding of TCP, UDP & multicast implementations, high performance messaging technologies, multithreading and IPC. •Experience conducting constructive technical reviews •Excellent oral and written communication skills •Expert software engineering Highly Desired skills include: •Experience building low latency trading platforms for equities, futures or options trading. •Prior development of exchange interface connectivity, for both order entry and market data •Experience introducing new technology into an organization, from product research through to project delivery. •Experience writing device drivers, embedded software or firmware.
