We are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated Diesel Fitter to join our Mining Services maintenance team. Based in Mt Isa QLD you will perform tasks to ensure the maintenance and service of equipment is upheld for availability at all times in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with the company policies, standards and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and surrounding areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and vehicles, crib rooms and offices.
• Maintain an emphasis on safety at all times.
• Complete or participate in JSA/Risk Assessments when required.
• Identify and report all hazards/incidents/injuries/near misses/property damage and theft.
• Abide by all company Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in workplace inspections and safe work observations.
• Ensure mandatory PPE is applied.
• Must comply with mandatory random drug & alcohol testing.
• Perform tasks delegated by the Superintendent, supervisors and management.
• Perform repairs and services to equipment and components, ensuring all works performed are followed to OEM spec’s and procedures.
• Attend breakdowns when required.
• Ensure all components are serialized on completion.
• Resource correct parts and consumables and ensure a requisition is completed for ordering of parts.
• Carry out repairs to auxiliary equipment as required(air compressors, forklifts, IT)
• Ensure all completed tasks on equipment are reviewed and documentation completed and forwarded to relevant department.
• Attend all toolbox talks/pass meetings and workplace safety meetings.
• Record true and correct information on timesheets daily in a neat & timely manner (eg. hours, work orders, work location, time & date, component sheets).
• Undertake any training required for the position.
• Notify supervisor before the start of shift if you are sick and before leaving to go home during shift.
• To be flexible with work hours when required.
• Attend other sites when required.
• The ability to prioritise workloads.
• Give guidance to apprentices.
• Must be able to work as part of a team, with or without supervision
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Problem solving.
• Mechanical Trade Qualification with considerable post trade experience
• Experience on heavy CAT and HITACHI equipment &
• Experience with heavy diesel equipment
