Vacancy 102 - C# Developer (Software Engineer)- Back Office Trading Systems

Description:As a leading, independent, global trading (market-making) group, we’re all about teamwork, innovation, integrity and genuine passion for what we do. These values ensure we do an excellent job of providing the best derivative prices to the international market. We’re also the principal investor of our business. Having no clients means we’re continually investing in our own growth. As a result, we now have offices in Amsterdam, Chicago, Hong Kong, Sydney and Taipei.
How it all started

In 1986 in Amsterdam, what started out as just a few Dutch traders is now a team of over 600-strong across the globe.

Our Sydney office opened in 1996, and has grown rapidly since, with well-established teams in trading, IT and business operations. We trade on a range of markets, including Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, in all the major indices, with our portfolio consisting of multiple asset classes.

Each trade involves the complex task of balancing calculated risk with long-standing experience. It’s this formula that makes smart and profitable trades every second of every day and into the future. Making the best decisions requires the continual development of state-of-the-art software, and the most advanced technology. That’s why trading and IT work together as the right and left hands of the business

It’s different here!

We prefer an informal, fun and comparatively flat structure that encourages innovation and collaboration. The kind of environment that gives you the freedom to be the best you can be and keeps us at the top of our game.

What do you need?

We are a development focussed team. We don’t have Business Analysts or Testers so you have full responsibility for the SDLC; from gathering user requirements to production deployment.

Over the last month, due to business growth and internal promotions, two new and exciting Junior Software Developer opportunities have become available in our Back Office Trading Systems team. In this role you will be working closely with many teams across the business to design, develop and implement exciting real time risk and reconciliation systems for our Risk Management and Middle Office teams. This is your opportunity to work with cutting edge technology in a fast paced, performance driven, industry leading company.

If you possess the following skills and experience you too can become an integral part of this dynamic team:
- between 2 and 4 years commercial programming experience, with a particular focus on object oriented programming. Whilst we appreciate the applications we have received from more senior candidates, this role is a junior position and hence we are looking for no more than 4 years of experience in software development.
- an awareness of agile process and practices such as TDD, unit and functional testing, continuous integration
- a keen interest in learning new technologies, but experience in technologies that we currently use would be advantageous: C#, Java, WPF, NHibernate, LINQ, SQL Server, SSRS
- an interest or experience in trading or finance would be highly regarded but is not essential

What’s in it for you?
Well, in return for your engagement, you will be rewarded with a competitive salary and bonus, the opportunity to develop through training and sponsored study and with numerous attractive and unique perks such as breakfast and lunch provided daily, weekly massage, free gym membership and annual company trips. And of course your chance to work on the most advanced technology in a stimulating, adrenaline-filled environment, where work-life balance is valued and great work rewarded.

Oh yeah l almost forgot! You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to be eligible to apply.

Please note: We are NOT accepting any applications from recruitment agencies. Applications from recruitment agents will not be considered.
