Vacancy 119 - Big Data Developer| Description: | Who you are You’re a keen and enthusiastic developer with a love for Big Data time series data analysis. You’re interested in large-scale data capture and processing and working closely with Trading to better understand how they can use the vast amount of market information we have, to improve our trading strategies and be able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. What you'll do You will be involved in managing all aspects of the software development, building tools to improve the processing, storage and analysis of market data and internal systems data as well as assisting Traders and Developers to optimise their queries. Your skills These will ideally include a mix of object-oriented design and development as well as a passion for data and the analysis thereof. • Commercial software engineering experience using a modern programming language such as C++, Java, or C# • A keen interest and a good understanding of time series databases such as KDB, Hadoop or OneTick • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Bash, SQL • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders • Demonstrated knowledge and understand of a Linux/Unix environment |
