Responsibilities Sales specialist professionals are responsible for selling IBM software solutions directly to customers and through Business Partners. The Cloud and Smarter Infrastructure (C&SI) Senior Sales Specialist is responsible for positioning IBM's cloud, service management, storage and automation software solutions into the market. The Specialist is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of the specialty's offerings and is responsible for the success of those offerings within the business unit. This professional typically leads large and/or complex opportunities, where customers are national or otherwise significant, and is responsible for winning the business. Has in-depth sales, business and professional skills to work with any level of customer management. With a perspective beyond the assigned territory, this professional provides input to sales objectives and strategies for the business unit. Skills Excellent communication skills and be able to represent client business value at senior levels within customer organisations and with Business Partners. Strong negotiation skills and understand/negotiate complex transactions and a demonstrated ability to close large sales. Must be capable of developing key client relationships. Experience and knowledge of competitive infrastructure offerings and be competent at positioning IBM solutions against competitors' products. In addition must be able to develop business and sales strategies for communicating new developments or announcements in the specialty to client teams, members of other specialty teams, IBM Experience Minimum 3-5 years' experience in ICT infrastructure sales, with experience in storage and/or automation a distinct advantage. A background from either an infrastructure software, hardware or solutions background preferred. Successful track record of infrastructure sales in the public sector, preferably at a Federal or large state government level, Prior experience in a multi-disciplinary matrixed sales environment is an advantage, as is broad industry knowledge of the ICT sector.
