This is is a leadership role that carries the strategic and operational responsibility for a significant part of the broader Trade team.

Global Transactional Services (GTS) specialies in the provision of cash management and working capital and trade solutions for institutional and corporate clients. In the last three years GTS has achieved the number 1 position in industry surveys and is the market leader in Australia.
The Trade business is rated 1^st in Australia for Trade Advice and Service and also ranks number 1 for its Supply Chain Finance offerings.
 
This position reporting into the Head of Trade Sales, GTS is a leadership role that carries the strategic and operational responsibility for a significant part of the broader Trade team. You will be required to develop and implement the business strategy for both your geographic area and specific areas of responsibility across the broader global business.  You will also be responsible for retention and year on year growth in both customer base and revenue
 
The Director, Trade Sales is a senior member of the Trade Leadership team and this carries a responsibility to contribute to the running of the broader business for WIB.
 
 
Core Accountabilities:

• Achieving a strong leadership position in the Trade market within Australia
• Building and leading a high performance sales team with high calibre ambitious individuals while deploying GTS business disciplines (eg. Account Plans, Call reports, pipeline)
• Driving programs that support the broader Trade Strategy and will grow market penetration and strengthen relationship bank position with clients (e.g. account management disciplines, industry, product and risk alignment)
• Build an environment within Westpac that enables the team to achieve success  - particularly by building constructive relationships with internal stakeholders across credit, RMs, broader GTS and Product.
• Creating a culture of high performance/continual improvement
• Develop, implement & lead an integrated approach to people opportunities/issues which will drive and embed a culture of continuous improvement and high performance across CIB
• Take ownership of business wide initiatives (ie beyond just direct people and market accountabilities) that will add sustainable value for the total Trade business.
• Building a people leadership framework for team expansion

 
Required Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

• Substantial trade finance distribution experience
• Intimate familiarity with Institutional and Corporate client base.
• Ability to meet client needs.
• Detailed understanding of the technical challenges of the business.
• Ability to offer integrated customer solutions that include Trade, Transactional, Financial Markets and other WIB product capabilities
• Change management knowledge & experience.
• Demonstrated ability to create client solutions
• Superior selling/negotiation skills.
• Strong Credit Skills
• Demonstrable leadership capability.
