Royal Caribbean International currently requires International Ambassadors. International Ambassadors manages the FluentSeas program onboard the vessel to provide language assistance and translation to non-English speaking guests in order for them to understand and enjoy all aspects of the cruise experience.

In addition to other requirements, potential candidates should have the ability to speak, read and write English, Spanish, German and French in addition to fluency in any one of the following: Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin or Japanese. A language proficiency test may be required.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

* Manages and coordinates the FluentSeas program throughout all service related departments onboard the vessel. This includes coordinating the distribution of in-stateroom materials and all in-language notices prepared for guests.

* Assists guests with translating spoken passages, documents, and other material from one language to another.

* Translates all varieties of documents and announcements including the daily Cruise Compass into the five core languages utilizing the Compass Wizard. Reviews and ensures the accuracy of all materials distributed to guests.

* Serves as host and/or translator for any type of event or activity with a large number of non-English speaking guests.



Minimum Requirements:

* Ability to speak, read and write English, Spanish, German and French. Additional language mix must be one of the following: Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin or Japanese. A language proficiency test may be required.

* Customer service experience utilizing multi-languages in a hospitality industry preferred.

* Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety desktop publishing software packages. A skills test may be required.

* Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration or related field from an accredited college, university or the international equivalent preferred.

* All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable

* Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.
