What you'll do

As part of a fast-faced, dynamic engineering team, you'll be focused on optimisations where you’ll be working on squeezing microseconds out of our high performance trading systems. You'll be working closely with the business including our Traders, Software Developers, and Infrastructure Engineers to develop a deep understanding of trading strategies and learn about the operation of in-house software and the architecture of exchange and broker systems. In this role, you’ll get to play ‘technical detective’, tracking down issues and chasing a problem to its root cause as well as working on projects to deliver new platforms to production and deploying the latest and greatest in releases.

Your skills

You’re a proactive and customer focused technologist with a broad and ever-growing knowledge of various technologies, operating systems and languages.

• A solid understanding of Unix
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Experience using scripting languages such as Bash, Python and/or Shell
• Demonstrated system troubleshooting and technical problem-solving experience
• Excellent verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills and the ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
• Demonstrated ability to keep a ‘cool head’ when under pressure
• You have a keen attention to detail and have a real sense of responsibility
• Networking, Graphite and PostgreSQL experience will be very beneficial
