Managed
Services (MS) provides comprehensive management of our customers
storage operations in accordance with their specific service-level
requirements. You would be a part of a dedicated EMC team of storage
management professionals who assume full onsite responsibility for all,
or part, of a customers storage environment over a fixed term. Our team
leverages ITIL standards and EMC proven best practices, and proprietary
operational processes.
Provides
operational support to customers for implementations and management of
EMC solutions. Works closely with the customer on EMC Best Practices;
ensures EMC solutions work as intended in the customer's environment.
Provides
proactive recommendations to the customer for improving their use of
EMC storage solutions to help maximize their satisfaction with EMC.
Actively contributes to the configuration, layout and performance tuning
of EMC products.
Participates in the design and
operational execution of the customer's disaster recovery process as
required. Performs infrastructure maintenance and necessary data
migration, as required. Provides assistance to EMC technical teams in
the development of custom solutions and implementation preparation.
Responsible
for performing daily operational tasks and maintaining availability at
the customer site(s). Provisions solutions based on standardized
procedures as outlined by EMC best practice documentation. Performs
necessary infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and
customer's change management policies.
Performs
according to established safety standards. Reports unsafe situations and
recommends improvements. Seeks advice or assistance from management
and/or Technical Support as required during difficult customer
situations. Works in conjunction with EMC colleagues to ensure effective
resolution of technical issues encountered during implementations.
Supports
and reports to engagement Project Manager while assigned to customer
engagements. Advises Project Manager on Level of Effort required to
perform assigned implementations. Provides technical team leadership.
May be required to act as Project Manager on less complex
implementations.
Participates in the continual review
and improvement of existing operational policies and procedures in
compliance with EMC's best practices.
Represents EMC in a
professional manner to customers, EMC Partners and other EMC personnel
at all times. Provides support and instruction to customers and less
experienced co-workers. Acts as a mentor and assists or presents
training development environments to peers, customers and other
organizations.
EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.
May perform other duties as requested.
