Role Summary/Purpose


Senior level underwriting management and support for 2 to 3 transactions simultaneously as assigned and required by the Director in any of the risk related aspects of the underwriting process for Corporate Finance senior secured lending products of Leveraged Lending & Acquisition, Corporate Cash Flow, Asset Based Lending, Aviation, Finance and Leasing Finance. Required to be familiar with and to sufficiently support the issues, requirements and processes of a proposed transaction
Essential Responsibilities     Responsible for the proactive support of all aspects of the underwriting process as directed by for new commercial loans (sponsor/leverage, aviation, asset based) including:

• Analysis of financial statements (profit & loss, cash flow and balance sheet) and preparation of financial modeling for various expected and sensitized scenarios.
• Analysis of all other relevant credit information as applicable including enterprise value, market presence, economic relationships, industry, collateral values and issues, residual value and issues, international issues, business customs and security interactions and requirements, management strengths and weakness, etc.
• Proactive management of the required information flow from external stakeholders including client, equity sponsor/loan agent underwriter, valuers, environmental assessors, Field Examination Team, Capital Markets team, and other GE associates and Senior personnel locally or overseas.
• Manage the preparation of the formal credit approval request (“Approval Document”) as well as manage and administer the credit approval process for local or overseas approval as required.
• Assist or lead as required the legal negotiation, documentation, security registration, AML requirements of transactions.
• Initiate and manage positive and effective relationships and communications with Deal Team stakeholders, customer, sponsor/Loan Agents, third parties, internal Deal Team and Senior Management.
• Co-ordination of loan closings, fundings and handovers to the Relationship Management Team.

Qualifications/Requirements     Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification (BA, MBA or CPA/CA) in commerce, business, accounting or finance, or CFA designation a plus

Experience
• 6+ years professional experience as a credit risk underwriter or related position preferably in a large corporate credit, financial, or investment firm environment
• Overseas posting or international experience a plus

Technical Knowledge and Skills
• Strong excel, word processing and power point skills
• Strong secured credit expertise and experience – knowledge of credit, risk, collateral and financial management techniques, and all related legal and security issues
• Strong financial, economic, market analysis experience and skills
• Clear, concise, and effective written & oral communication
