| Manage
the Yarrandoo site operations, ensure leadership and team working
across the groups as well as with the wider organization and align the
site and related groups with the needs of Global R&D and the wider
organization. Lead the Drug Efficacy group at Yarrandoo. Site Head Yarrandoo: • Own the process of updating the Yarrandoo Site Masterplan based on changing business requirements, make recommendations for site improvements and regularly discuss with the other site heads and the Global R&D Site Head in order to align the site strategies to the needs of the R&D organization. • Align Yarrandoo site and local R&D organization with other global R&D sites and overall R&D strategy through engagement with global site head and other R&D sites. Ensuring Yarrandoo is fully integrated into the global site strategy. • Drive technical and operational excellence: ensure continuous productivity improvement, strive for optimal site utilization and develop and acquire expertise and state-of-the-art technology to become a fast and technologically advanced site. • Provide leadership and direction for the site activities, people, infrastructure and budgets. • Maintain compliance of the test facility and activities with the principles, guidelines and internal and external standards of GxP, Animal Welfare and HSE. • Ensure that all potential safety signals (adverse events) are recorded, investigated (where applicable) and reported in accordance with NAH Pharmacovigilance requirements. • Closely monitor and ensure good collaboration and communication between the site and the other Research and Development groups. • Ensure KPIs are achieved or exceeded. Head Drug Efficacy (Yarrandoo): • Provide technical leadership and guidance on study design and methodologies • Lead development and implementation of new efficacy models in livestock/companion animals, as appropriate • Develop and implement project plans agreed to by the appropriate IPT or RPT’s to devel-op new products or enhanced applications of existing products. • In conjunction with the Head, Global Drug efficacy, assign Efficacy Expert Team Leaders to the International Project Teams • Provide technical guidance and resources for Stewardship projects • Undertake cost effective research and development activity by utilizing the resources at YAR R&D Centre and, for external studies, negotiating costs of projects and ensuring all studies are implemented within agreed budgets and timelines. • Ensure compliance with quality systems and standards in studies conducted by the Effi-cacy team (Principles of Good Laboratory Practice, Good Clinical Practice and NAH GOP’s). • Ensure that dose determination and dose confirmation studies proposed by the project teams are justified and properly designed. • Ensure timely availability of high standard study protocols and study plans for presenta-tion to the Animal Ethics Committee (AEC); support staff in obtaining approval of studies by the AEC. • Represent NAH with regulatory authorities on matters related to clinical programmes run from Yarrandoo. Other accountabilities: Develop local talent by identifying individuals with leadership potential, providing mentor-ing and enrichment opportunities consistent with succession planning (training, coaching and counseling). Drive staff motivation and ensure good performance management and robust devel-opment plans are established and maintained in all groups. Comply with all company local and global policies including equal opportunity, anti-discrimination and harassment, financial, safety and environment (OH&S) policies. Perform any other duties or serve in such other capacity as may be determined by Com-pany management. Foster collaboration with KOLs and external investigators. Ensure the contribution to TOC/CCPM by providing high quality input to project plans, ensuring active task management and anticipating and breaking resource constraints. Ensure good communication with senior management and all R&D group leaders. Drive Integrity and Compliance initiatives and actively create a culture of D&I. | |
| University degree in science, veterinary medicine or related fields (PhD or other postgraduate education would be an asset) • 5-10 years industry experience • 3-5 years multinational & multifunctional leadership experience • Competence & experience in pharmaceutical research and new product development, specifically Clinical Development • Excellent interpersonal, communication and infor-mation management skills • Experience in direct or matrix people management role; expert skills to facilitate/optimize contribution of team members as individuals and as a team • Strong background in large animal medicine is de-sirable APPLY |
