Engineering team in the role of Network Engineering Team Lead.
This role is based in Sydney, Australia and relocation assistance and

As the Network Team Lead, you will be directly responsible for:
- Managing a dedicated team of network engineers.
- Technical project and vendor management.
- Developing and implementing the network design, policies and
procedures required to operate critical network infrastructure at scale.
- Last line technical support (tier 3), when escalated to by the Service Operations team.
- Leading and participating on projects, delivering unmatched business value, through leveraging networking technologies.
- Continuous service improvement.
- Mentoring network engineers, being both a technical and business role model.
Key Skills
- Demonstrated experience with technical team management.
- Data Centre and Campus networks (Routing & Switching).
- Cisco / Juniper experience with CCIE / CCDE or JNCIE accreditation.
- Intrinsic operational knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP, CoS and QoS.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and troubleshooting large and complex layer 2 topologies.
- VOIP / PABX / Phones (Asterix, Cisco or Avaya).
- VPN (OpenVPN and/or Cisco/Juniper).
- Firewalls (Cisco and Juniper or Checkpoint).
- Security (Network Taps, Protocol Analysis via Wireshark or Netscout).
- Last line technical support (tier 3), when escalated to by the Service Operations team.
- Ensure network infrastructure compliance with Atlassians policies and external compliance.
- Continuous service improvement.
- Experience with the operations, design and implementation of complex routing and switching technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot whilst under pressure.
- Scripting and/or programming to automate configuration, management and routine tasks (Python or Ruby).
- Data driven decision making, through collection, collation and processing of large volumes of information.
Additional Highly Regarded Skills and Experience
- 5 years experience within a similar position, Internet service provider, Telco or enterprise network.
- Experience with Atlassian products a plus!
- Familiarity with the IT Service Management & the ITIL Framework
- Working within Agile companies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
