Industrial Engineer with a Lean background
 
This top ASX listed Medical Device company located in Brisbane with a reputation of providing innovative and class leading products is currently searching for an experienced Industrial Engineer with a strong continuous improvement background to join their rapidly growing production team



Due to increased production demands and company strategy being focused on providing effective continuous improvement methods, this global leading Medical Device company is seeking a professional Industrial Engineer to provide innovative solutions to improve and increase the efficiency of their manufacturing processes.



Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, you main responsibilities will include:



- Providing solutions to resolve issues that may arise in production, ensuring that recommendations are clearly communicated to production and other support staff

- Review current work practices and create effective measurement programs based on your review

- Assess the manufacturing process to determine the most effective way to eliminate waste

- Effectively investigate reasons for line stoppages and where bottlenecks exist (ie. 5S)

- Use your strong Lean knowledge to implement methods to enhance the manufacturing process, staff requirements and standards in production

- Procure and commission new equipment where needed

- Also complete purchase order for any additional tools, materials or equipment needed

- Assist with the site design/layout to be more efficient

- Evaluate and present the benefits of any changes or additional costs to upper management

- Succinctly measure any improvements made against pre-existing standards



In order for you to be considered for the position you must have:



- Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Engineering (or a related discipline)

- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a minimum 5 years experience working within the medical device or automotive industries

- Proven experience applying Lean methodologies within a manufacturing setting

- Experience designing and creating tools, jigs and fixtures to enhance manufacturing processes

- Proven experience being able to liase with a variety of stakeholders

- Be a hands on engineer that is driven and thrive on new challenges

- Display excellent problem solving skills

- Have excellent communication skills
