Citibank

This
position involves strengthening existing relationships with key
external stakeholders as well as the ability to assess and decide on
matters within bankruptcy reports and insolvency proposals affecting the
bank.
The
purpose of maintaining a strong communication channel is to ensure
Citigroup participates in every applicable insolvency proceeding. It is
imperative that the candidate be familiar with rules and regulations
applicable for personal insolvency. Corporate insolvency knowledge is
also desirable as the Insolvency Manager will be handling a small
portfolio of Diners Club accounts.
This role will be based at our offices at Rhodes.
Key Accountabilities:
· Attend various requests from external parties such as Trustees, Liquidators Debt Purchasers and RDAAs
· Analyse reports to Creditors and Insolvency Agreement Proposals protecting Citigroup’s interest in these dealings
· Attend to ITSA’s major creditors/RDAAs forums and represent the bank in round table industry discussions
· Assist Shared Services staff with their day-to-day queries and issues around Insolvency portfolio
· Effective management of escalations through the supervisor queue.
· Monitoring inventory versus recoveries with Analytics resources.
· QA checking as required to ensure Citigroup is not over-claiming or under-claiming funds.
· Discontinue accounts where applicable and following departmental and company policies.
· Ability to forecast and report results as required by Senior Managers.
· Supervise
and ensure SLAs are met by all internal stakeholders involved in the
insolvency process (Shared Services, O&T and Application Workflow
departments).
· Sign approved claims (proofs of debt) and vote in proposals and resolutions following the Power of Attorney.
· Chase-up
Trustees and RDAAs for dividend adjudication/ remittances where
applicable and ensure funds are banked promptly by O&T.
· Participate in meetings of creditors and ensure to secure best dividend rate to the bank.
Qualifications
The successful candidates will have:
· An understanding of unsecured products.
· Knowledge of Australian Bankruptcy regulations, IPAA and ITSA’s practice directions and guidelines.
· An understanding of Collections and Debt Recoveries
· Excellent accounting/numerical skills required.
· Demonstrated experience in dealing with legal matters.
· Strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
· Ability to perform skip searches, Federal Law Search, ABR, NPII, Veda etc.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
· Tertiary
qualification in Accounting or currently attaining this qualification
is advantageous, as is previous exposure to a Legal environment.
· Strong written and communication skills.
· Excellent attention to detail.
