Description
The Financial Analyst is part of the Controllership Finnace team and is responsible for the David Jones month end accounting, monthly P&L and Balance Sheet analysis as well as ad-hoc Alliance related projects.
The role is closely aligned with Proprietry Card Services David Jones Alliance team, as well as external business partner David Jones. Primary responsibilities for the role include:
- Perform various month-end close activities including reconciliations, journal entries and analytical procedures
- Review monthly results to provide variance analysis
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Manage chart of accounts and responsibility centre structure
- Assist and support internal and external audits
- Provide accounting support on special projects related to key business and financial initiatives - Provide financial expertise to LFO / Business on US GAAP and Internal Policies
- Work closely with shared services centres
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills
- Must be flexible, able to work autonomously and provide accurate updates to management as needed.
- Experience of working in a highly matrix organization
- Contract Management experience
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Oracle / Essbase knowledge of advantage
- Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance or related discipline, CPA/CA a plus - 2 - 5 years of relevant Finance/Business work experience
