Field Engineer/ QC Inspector

Main Tasks and Specific Responsibilities Field Engineer Functions: • Assist Construction Manager in reviewing constructability of engineering deliverables submitted by engineering contractors to ensure construction work can be performed in industrially practical manners. • Assist Construction Manager in preparation for scheduling works by defining tasks to be performed, estimating man-hours to perform each task of piping, mechanical and structural disciplines work areas. • Assist Construction Manager in monitoring and supervision of construction contractor’s performance for piping, mechanical and structural disciplines work areas to ensure construction work complies with all contractual requirement, engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction and as per approved drawings/ procedures/ plan. When required, report accurate time and quantities of resources involved. • In case where it is found that design deliverables prepared by engineering contractor do not suit to actual site conditions, liaise with Construction Manager and propose alternative. • In conjunction with other Project Team members provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications to contractors/ vendors or other concerned Groups within the Company. Review and provide comments to contractor’s submitted technical document (such as execution plans/ procedures/ drawings etc.) to ensure contractor’s performance is complied with the contractual requirements, company specifications, approved work plan/ procedures. • Act as client representative during pre-commissioning, commissioning and final acceptance of mechanical and piping systems. • Present oneself as a candidate for promotion by learning and understanding construction methods and developing good construction management skills. QC Inspector Functions: • In charge for site QC inspections with consultation with and under direction of QA/QC Manager/ Supervisor and coordinate with Certifying Authorities as required. • Assist in reviewing of QA/QC documents and other related technical document submitted by Vendors/ Contractors and receiving inspection and delivery expediting of equipment and materials. • Assist QA/QC Supervisor/ Manager in expediting subcontractors work progress and enforcing quality control including welding inspection and reviewing of Inspection and Test reports, NDE reports, including review and approval of radiographic films. • Liaise with Contractor’s Quality personnel in resolving non-conformances detected during process of construction. Ensuring that the contractor has adequate personnel available to meet inspection demand in a timely manner. • Assist QA/QC Supervisor/ Manager in preparation and execution of Quality audits. • Continuous monitoring of the Contractor’s as-built documentation system, ensuring that these are kept up to date in preparation for the compilation and timely submission of the As Built Dossier upon completion of the work. • Report to QA/QC Supervisor/ Manager any deviations from Company specifications discovered. General Tasks: • To establish and maintain a good working relationship with various Contractors and their respective personnel. • Provide Input to Project Weekly, Monthly, and other Reports related to the above tasks and responsibilities. • Carry out ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Project Manager when required. Internal Interfaces Interfaces with Project Manager, Project team members and other personnel within Company organization as required. External Interfaces Interfaces with Engineering/ Procurement Vendors, and Construction Contractors, Certifying Authority, Marine Warranty Surveyor and others. Working location: Onshore/offshore rotation 28x28 days in the south of Vietnam.
