About Us

The Wealth Management Advice Business within the CBA Group is responsible for the provision of financial advice and services to clients through a range of advice businesses / brands - Commonwealth Financial Planning, Bankwest Financial Advice, Financial Wisdom and Advice Essentials. In addition the team provides support to a select group of top non-aligned firms through our Business to Business model.

The Opportunity

We aim to work tirelessly to 'make it easier' for advisers to deliver quality advice and service to their customers and are actively encouraged to suggest process improvements in support of this. Working as part of a centralised team, you will provide key support to our aligned advice businesses through the provision of high quality SOA's and deliver advice coaching and quality assurance checks for Advisers. You will need to work efficiently to meet internal service level agreements and operate within our Risk Management and Advice Supervision and Monitoring Frameworks. The role offers opportunities to build strong relationships with internal Advisers and Managers, and could see you well positioned to move internally into future advisory roles in 18-24 months.

You will:
  • Partner closely with Advisers
  • Ensure the appropriateness of any documentation, client strategies, fees and product recommendations as part of SOA preparation and delivery
  • Conduct Pulse Checks on submitted documentation and escalate any concerns
  • Prepare and deliver quality SOAs within appropriate turnaround times .
  • Establish, build and maintain effective relationships with Advisers and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure SOA content is consistent, accurate and meets current SLA and regulatory obligations
  • Proactively maintain and enhance your technical knowledge and self-development
  • Adhere to relevant policies, processes and procedures to avoid risk
  • Meet productivity and workflow management guidelines
  • Contribute to improving the end-to-end customer experience and Paraplanning process
  • Identify and escalate potential risks, issues or opportunities that are raised
  • Utilise appropriate technology to assist with the SOA development process
  • Apply your technical knowledge and writing skills to ensure SOA's are written in a professional manner that can be easily understood by customers.

Your Skills:
  • Previous experience in the financial planning environment
  • Sound knowledge of the advice process
  • RG146 compliant in the following generic and specialist areas: Generic knowledge; Managed investments; Life insurance; Superannuation; Financial planning and skills
  • Tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Clear and audible communication skills
  • Familiarity with COIN Software highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good level of technical knowledge and analytical ability
  • Proven time management and organisational skills
