As part of the Capital Management trading desk in Sydney, we are looking to recruit a junior trader


About the role

We are looking to recruit a Front Office Developer/Trading Assistant into the Global Trading team to be based in Sydney. As part of the Capital Management desk, you will assist the members of the trading team in executing the day to day requirements of the Group. This role has the potential to develop into a trading role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:
  • Daily monitoring of MSG call balances, funding, liquidity and risk positions.
  • Preparing internal reporting requirements, including daily funding projections and risk reporting.
  • Develop tactical and strategic reporting applications to meet business needs
  • Develop and maintain interest rate pricing models/applications.
  • Develop market risk analysis tools/applications.
  • Learn about fixed income and money market trading with the potential to grow into a trading role.

About you

This role will suit a mathematically minded individual with a Computer Science, Engineering degree or similar who has:
  • Very strong numeracy, VBA and programming skills
  • Commercial in a risk environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal ability, judgment and administrative skills
  • Proven execution/outcome skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise between detailed day to day activity, including problem-solving, and longer term activities and projects
  • Proven ability to sustain high level of performance under pressure with short deadlines etc.
  • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels, including with external parties
  • High levels of enthusiasm and motivation along with the ability to be proactive
