Sr Manager Delivery Practice

General Summary

Experienced Senior Leader responsible for a Managed Services delivery organization. Will need to lead a large organization to successfully deliver on contractual obligations, ensure delivery excellence, and meet or exceed contractual service level agreements. Provides leadership, mentorship and value in the area of services delivery capability and overall performance and execution of the business plan. A service professional who has demonstrated an ability to lead based on experience, knowledge, passion and competence. Oversees a group of services delivery professionals with in a geographic area. Works closely with Pre-Sales and Delivery teams and other groups to coordinate and conduct the delivery and implementation of solutions. Promotes the development of strong cooperative relationships between services delivery professionals and all EMC organizations. Responsible for the communication and delivery assurance of EMC standards, policies and procedures. Drives utilization while ensuring cost effective and timely delivery of billable engagements for services that drive EMC products and service revenues. Focus on TCE and delivering on the promised value of an EMC Managed Service outsource.

Responsibilities
  • Provides strategy, direction, and personal oversight for the delivery of managed services over a large geographic region. Requires detailed functional and operational expertise in the industry of managed services.
  • Provides leadership to a diverse group of IT professionals, with a strong focus on outsourced managed services, driving a focus on customer deliverable and desired outcomes.
  • Develops and implements all operational policies, goals, performance standards/metrics and budgets. Accountable for customer satisfaction, services, programs, managers/employees for assigned area of responsibility. Ensures manager accountability for direct reports. Has budgetary and P&L accountability in conjunction with theater business leader.
  • Decisions impact across functions, are based on cost/benefit analysis for the business in the applicable theater. Operates in matrix environment.
  • Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible factors. Exercises judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensure budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division, or company operations.
  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning customers, the Managed Services business, and the greater EMC. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations. Communicates organizational strategy and translates it into a functional strategy. Engage in new business opportunities as required. Establishes relationships with all (most applicable) key customers in region of responsibility.
  • Works on issues where analysis of situation requires an in-depth understanding of organizational objectives. Applies strategic goals and direction to obtain results. Analyses external business environment, to anticipate trends and determine strategy. Works cross-functionally within the business to identify issues and opportunities to improve the overall business.
  • Analyzing the operation for continuous improvement. Identifying opportunities to improve existing operations and drive out cost and inefficiencies. Works closely with Managed Services global management and delivery functions to drive a common operating model, and ensures region under management proactively participates in the contribution of best practices and other areas leading to further delivery efficiencies.
  • A keen focus on mentoring a direct staff of senior leaders with a focus on succession planning and development of future senior managers.
  • Work with third party partners as required to augment and deliver contracted services.
