Atlassian is the place for you! We're looking for a technical writing
manager to lead our talented technical writing team - this is a team of
16 based across Sydney and San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Manage the portfolio of product, developer and enterprise
documentation: define and execute the creation & publishing
strategy; manage priorities and resources across multiple products and
cross functional teams; ensure documentation excellence;
- Define the long-term documentation vision, and actively lead the
team of technical writers based in Sydney and San Francisco to deliver
it
- Develop the careers of the technical writing team, recruiting and training staff as needed
- Work with the product management, design, development and support
teams to consistently deliver great experiences via our documentation
- Own documentation metrics: accountable for documentation scope, value & audience satisfaction
- Assess, identify and implement effective strategies for scaling documentation creation and publishing
- Identify and develop opportunities for innovative content, content creation, content management & community involvement.
- Use latest technological advances to disrupt traditional documentation approaches
What you've done
- Managed and led technical documentation and editorial teams for multiple software products for more than five years
- Managed technical writers in Agile environments
- Successfully developed and managed user experience based strategies
and programs for creating and publishing web based documentation
- Implemented web metrics and analysis-driven approaches to determine and measure those strategies
- Written for non-technical, technical and developer audiences
- Created the information architecture and content for developer documentation, including tutorials, API & SDK documentation
- Experienced with development concepts, such as source code management, code review and continuous integration
- Delivered community-based help and support web experiences
- Preferably developed thought-leadership content, customer stories and technical blog articles
