Description
This position is responsible for driving acquisition within the Small Business segment. The role is accountable for acquiring high value customers and ensuring that they are sold on to the most appropriate product to drive billings and customer satisfaction. There is a requirement to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders at senior levels, as well as a thorough understanding of the competitive environment within the Small Business segment. Client interaction involves telephone engagement with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience whilst maximizing sales efficiency & effectiveness.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who has a strong background in B2B sales, account management and business development. It is also ideal for the candidate to have consultative selling experience as we are looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Prospecting for new customers through existing leads and cold calling and maximizing lead generation
2. Timely execution of all sales activities – leads, campaigns, referrals & any self generated leads
3. Tracking and reporting sales performance including pipeline, acquisition results and market conditions
4. Set appointments, listen to customer needs and sell most appropriate product
5. Researches and understands prospects before making the call
6. Ensures all applications are fully and accurately completed, and submitted properly
7. Be the interface between Amex and the customer to resolve any application processing issues
8. Use online CRM tool (salesforce.com) to source leads, maintain detailed information on all appointments and customer feedback (daily)
9. Drive the on-boarding of new customers and initiates spend enablement activities
10. Keep up-to-date on products and competition
11. Attend and participate in regular staff meetings
12. Track and report on sales performance including pipeline, acquisition results and market conditions.
13. Engages in regular portfolio planning to determine areas of focus & project accurate full year forecasts
14. Attend relevant industry and partner conferences, tradeshows and networking events
15. Develop relationships across the business including Risk, Credit, New Accounts, Commercial Card and GMS
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
1. Consultative selling experience (proven track-record of meeting and exceeding sales goals)
2. Demonstrated strategic ability– able to link Amex and customer goals
3. Excellent oral and written communication, relationship building Experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies
4. Excellent problem solving skills
5. Excellent planning skills and territory management skills
6. High levels of initiative, self motivation and time management
7. Understanding of the drivers of Amex profitability
8. Ability to influence and negotiate with customers both internally and externally and at all levels
9. Ability to engage and gain commitment effectively across all communication platforms (via telephone, email & face to face)
10. Ability to establish/maintain credibility with customers and partners
11. Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel skills
