The Instructional Designer is responsible for
the design & development of innovative leadership learning
experiences, solutions and programs designed to strengthen
organizational performance and the professional growth and development
of GE employees and leaders.
Partner
with various Crotonville Learning colleagues to conduct needs analysis
that defines performance outcomes & identifies business performance
needs, securing buy-in on program purpose, content, and learning
outcomes
Determine the best instructional design methods/technologies to use for each learning solution or curriculum
Design and develop innovative and transformational learning
experiences that can be delivered both on NY Campus, in 14 regions and
virtually; driving maximum transfer of learning and application to the
job
Drive sustainability of learning and follow-through to maximize transfer of knowledge, skills and capabilities to the job
Leverage the outputs of the annual performance management
and talent management process; conduct an annual review of development
plans, analyzing data, establishing organizational priorities and making
recommendations
Manage the design, development, piloting and delivery of new learning and capability building development programs
Develop the complete learning experience including
development of programs and instructional design, including, lecture,
group discussion, demonstration, role play, case studies
Create clear, concise, well-designed, easy to use materials
to enhance learning. (Video, job aids, handouts, games, etc.)
Responsible for ensuring all curriculum design materials are clear,
concise, consistent, instructionally sound and will deliver against the
performance and business objectives through adherence to Instructional
Systems Design standards (ADDIES preferred)
Coordinate with Operations team and oversee the production
of learning materials, design, printing, binding, scheduling, equipment,
room set up, etc
Assists SMEs in adult learning theory and instructional design
Simultaneously manages multiple client projects varying in
scope, which encompasses project plan development, managing task
completion, coordinating resources, identifying constraints and ensuring
timely project completion
Stay current on best practices within the learning and
development industry by maintaining association memberships, researching
trends, and attending conferences
Assist in the development and reporting of training and talent management metrics
Research, identify and partner with outside vendors as appropriate
Research and recommend best practices
Collaborate with HR colleagues to leverage their expertise and best current thinking
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Instructional Systems Design, Adult Learning, Education,)
Minimum 5 years of extensive experience in Contemporary
instructional design and development (the ADDIE model preferred),
Training Facilitation to Adult Audiences (Adult Learning Theory
preferred),Training Evaluation (the Four Levels of Evaluation preferred)Eligibility Requirements:

Experience designing and developing alternative training methodologies is a must (e.g. blended learning design)
Demonstrated track record in creating the new and different and implementing innovative approaches to talent development
Strong experience in creating developing engaging
experiential development programs tied to business growth and talent
strategies
Proven ability to understand learner needs related to organizational pain points and expectations
Identified best learning modality and technology to deliver impactful learning experiences
Personal presence, program knowledge and communication
skills to work with business leaders, and a broad range of learning
design and delivery experiences
Proven ability in service orientation and delivery excellence; demonstrates a strong passion and headset for Client Service
Highly creative problem solving skills, coupled with exceptional process and project management and execution skills
Able to handle multiple priorities; initiate, lead and manage change
Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural/global environment
Strong demonstrated writing, facilitation, and verbal
communication skills, articulating complex ideas in an easy to
understand manner to all levels of the organization
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills; able to work virtually
Proven influencing skills in a challenging, matrixed environment and at executive levels
Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Master’s Degree in a related field (Learning/Education, Instructional Systems/Design, Human Performance and Improvement)
Minimum 7 years of Learning & Development ISD experience
Knowledge of, or past participation in, GE Leadership Curriculum
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills
