Job Summary

The Systems Engineer role working in conjunction with Apple’s Education team is responsible for providing high level technical advice and solution guidance to customers and channel partners. Focused on developing and fostering relationships with key customers, Apple resellers and strategic industry partners, the role requires maintaining superior technical competence and the ability to present that knowledge, both formally and informally. The position requires development of technical sales plans and proposals in direct consultation with sales, channel and the customers directly. The position will be based in Sydney, with travel required, and will report to the Systems Engineering Manager, Education.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in all areas of IT.
  • Ability to solve technical problems.
  • Five plus years of pre-sales consultancy experience.
  • A knowledge of Apple’s hardware and software products and advantages.
  • Uncompromising desire to assist Apple’s customers and staff.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and experience in delivering presentations.
  • Capability to provide mentoring to junior staff.
  • Proven self starter who can work without close supervision, displaying effective time management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of business & sales practices.
  • Certification to Apple ACSA standard or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of products and solutions involving mobility, networking, internet technologies and cross platform connectivity.
  • Knowledge of competitive products and solutions.
  • A background in the markets this position is focused on.

Description

1 Pre Sales Technical Support o Actively maintain a high level of competence in both Apple and industry wide technologies so as to be equipped to answer customer & reseller enquires efficiently and effectively. o Work closely with sales staff to assist them in achieving company targets by: - Preparing and delivering technology updates and solutions presentations to clients and resellers - Keeping resellers up to date and motivated in order to maximise Apple sales opportunities - Facilitating solutions by design and verification process - Identifying, communicating and exploiting sales opportunities - Thought leadership and guidance to senior levels of customer organisations 2 Development of Apple Business o Actively cultivate relationships with reseller staff in order to ensure ongoing skills development and the best customer experience. o Maintain links with and encourage the development of a skilled Apple technical community. o Develop and foster relationships with both technical staff and senior decision makers at major customers. 3 Market Intelligence o Provide ongoing feedback to the SE Team, sales representatives and managers on competitive developments. o Develop rapport with local representatives of partners and competitors. o Direct interaction with external customers and industry bodies. Present as required at industry events. o Provide timely reporting as required by management.

Education

A tertiary qualification or a minimum of five years relevant experience in the computer industry.
