We provide global and domestic investment management solutions. We have over 8000 employees located in 150 offices worldwide within 30 different countries. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Global Funds Administration and Reporting (GFAR) team within Franklin Templeton Services (FTS).
This position can be located in either of the following locations: Melbourne, Australia, Hong Kong or Singapore (applicant preference).
The role of manager is to assume ownership of the Operational deliverables of the GFAR Asia team, and to enhance client service delivery to the clients of Franklin Templeton Services. In addition the role will assist the Director, FTS Global Fund Administration and Reporting with senior-level client service and product support to FT business units across Asia Pacific.

Role responsibilities :
The successful candidate will be expected to cover the following:
Product - Australian Funds/Product Ownership (Managed and Real Estate Funds & Institutional Separate Accounts)
  • Oversee the daily NAV pre-price release, and ensures that all monthly and periodic reporting deadlines are met.
  • Oversee statutory and other financial reporting production required of the GFAR financial reporting group, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Demonstrate product and problem ownership skills
  • Ensure robust oversight of internal (eg Portfolio administration and International Fund Tax) and external service providers (eg custody, administration, audit and tax,), including monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Identify, escalate and resolve product/process issues or improvements that enhance the services provided to FTS clients and protects the entitlements of Fund unit holders
  • Actively research current developments that affect the designated funds / accounts and provide summary and suggested action to senior management.
  • Actively display an in-depth knowledge of designated funds / accounts in the oversight of areas such as, financial reporting, regulatory environment, Trustee, client reporting, budget approvals, distributions and NAV risk-based review reports.
  • Undertake continual review, identification and improvement of team process / workflow to ensure efficient use of available resource.
  • Liaise, identify and develop Fund reporting to ensure key stakeholders have all necessary reporting and support to attract new investors and properly support existing investors.
  • Assist the Director in the completion of GFAR responsibilities and functions for the issue and/or rollover of Fund offer documents.

Staffing, Professional Development and Builds Organizational Talent
  • Manage and execute the daily workflow of team members to ensure the timely and accurate execution of assigned tasks.
  • Provide overall guidance and direction when needed.
  • Provide team training on technical issues, current developments and incident reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure continued team development by implementing task training, procedure maintenance, coaching and cross training across the team to mitigate risks inherent in small teams.
  • Drive and encourage staff to implement work practices and actively participate and leverage change management opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for less experienced staff through efficient work practices and positive engagement of team members.
  • Ensure adequate fund allocation across the team, and provide opportunities for growth by the review of allocation from time to time.

FTS Representation and Service Delivery
  • Assist the Director to represent FTS for services
  • Communicate Regional business issues and initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate and consistent communication and awareness within FTI business units of the special business requirements or administration models for Regional funds.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Tertiary education within Finance or similar discipline
  • At least 8 years post qualification experience in investment management operations, custodian bank, fund administration
  • Departmental supervisory experience is required with experience in managing in matrix or cross functional teams in multiple locations
  • Experience with automated financial and investment management & operations systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of investment management industry and securities markets in Asia including stock exchange and depository regulations and practices
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks in multiple functions in a functional and geographical matrix organization
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow in a collegiate manner
  • Client service and customer focus
  • Efficient when using in Desktop applications  (i.e.: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Project, Windows, Visio, etc.) required
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and guide teams to resolution
  • People management/ leadership experience is essential
