Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join the Collections and Recoveries Team in the role of Contract Collections Officer.
Your main responsibilities in this role would include:
- Performing Collection functional duties for unsecured Consumer Products (Credit Cards, Consumer Finance and Personal Line of Credit) for accounts between 0 and 180 days delinquent
- Contacting customers and relationship managers via telephone;
- Actioning of accounts in a timely and proficient manner to drive down delinquency rates;
- Understanding customers' financial situation in order to provide the best solution to resolve debt;
- Negotiating payment arrangements in line with business guidelines;
- Complying with internal and external regulatory requirements at all times;
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- The Higher School Certificate or equivalent;
- A proven track record of being a top performer in a Banking / Financial Services collections environment;
- Prior Consumer collections experience
- Understanding of Cards and Consumer Finance products
- Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work under pressure, maintaining consistency in negotiations and handling customer complaints
- The flexibility and availability to work between 8am- 8pm
