Commonwealth Insurance Limited (CIL) is the
General Insurance arm of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia protecting
the Home and Cars of over 500,000 Australians. This department is
accountable for the end to end servicing of General Insurance customers
including policy acceptance and administration, servicing customer
enquiries, underwriting, claims and customer complaints. The team is
focused on delivering quality solutions to CBA customers.

- The role utilises a range of claims processing to manufacture the finalisation of registered Insurance claims to required organisational standards of customer service, quality and volume.
- The position communicates with CommInsure customers, related parties and selected suppliers, by telephone contact, and peers in person in order to progress registered Home and Motor Insurance claims to finalisation
- The position works in a team environment and based on the particular focus of the role, primarily has working relationships either with CommInsure customers in relation to their insurance claim, peers performing the same or similar work as this position; and, depending on the complexity of claims being managed, contact with specialists within the Unit to assist with the finalisation of claims or hand over of tasks as appropriate
- The position has ongoing contact with the supervising Team Manager for the allocation of work and feedback on the quality of work performed and procedural and technical advice to assist with the effective and efficient finalisation of claims and achievement of customer service standards
- Work is allocated to the role and is categorised by primary claim causation category; e.g., theft, damage, storm, total loss etc
- The position may be allocated work across a range of claims causation categories and levels of processing complexity
- The position may be allocated work requiring the complete end-to-end completion of the claims processing procedure and/or certain steps within the claims processing procedure and/or specific/specialist tasks within the claims processing procedure
- Over time, the position performs work in a range of teams, formed/reformed based on a range of factors customer service and processing considerations, e.g. fluctuating claims registration volumes, team member skills and abilities and innovations in claims manufacturing methods and technologies
