A household name in the market, Commbank are proud of our reputation of being Australia's number one Bank in customer service in our 101 st year of trading. A great opportunity has arisen in our Institutional & Business Banking (I&BB) Quantitative Risk Tools department.

The Team

Data & Analytics supplies risk tools, processes, and analysis to I&BB businesses to support them in making better risk-informed decisions.

The Role

To provide quantitative and analytical support for the following critical tasks;
  • Performance monitoring and validation (fit for purpose) of all credit risk factor models (PD, LGD and EAD) across the Business and Private Banking and Institutional Banking and Markets portfolios.
  • Design, build, deployment, maintenance and validation (as applicable) of all risk decisioning models and tools utilised across the Business and Private Banking and Institutional and Business Banking portfolios.


Main Duties
  • Responsibility for the design, development, implementation, management and validation of decisioning tools and models utilised across the Business and Private Banking and Institutional Banking and Markets portfolios
  • Responsibility for the implementation, management (monitoring) and validation of credit risk factor (PD, LGD and EAD) models utilised across the Business and Private Banking and Institutional Banking and Markets portfolios
  • Provide quantitative or analytical support for projects or tactical / strategic initiatives as required
  • Demonstrate team leadership behaviours that encourage productive working relationships and a high performance culture.
  • Support the Risk Management and Business and Private Banking leadership teams in the development of strategic and tactical business plans, monitor their execution and provide post implementation assessments.


Experience Required
  • Understanding of quantitative model development with practical experience in decisioning model development, implementation, monitoring and validation in a major financial institution.
  • Experience working with Corporate & Institutional products particularly specialised lending products will be highly regarded.
  • Strong technical skills in data manipulation and management.
  • Superior stakeholder management & leadership skills will be highly regared.
  • Quantitatively focused tertiary qualifications in econometrics, mathematics or statistics
