We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Accounts Payable Manager, taking accountability for the Australian Accounts Payable (AP) operation and reporting to the Australian Head of Procurement.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Effective influencing of the offshore AP team, ensuring payment processing accuracy, workflow management and adherence to all SLAs
  • Building and managing effective relationships with the local business and off shore team, resolving any issues and negotiating suitable solutions;
  • Management of a local AP resource ensuring continual development and training where required
  • Effective and timely reporting including monitoring and recovery of Operational Losses, Potential and Near Miss and timely escalation in line with Group policy
  • Ensure adherence to all internal and external policies and procedures, ensuring adequate controls are in place to counter fraud, bribery and incorrect payments
  • Monthly dashboard reporting including variance and trends analysis to support financial and operational business management
  • Escalation of adverse trends to ensure minimal impact and risk on the AP function and its performance
  • Management of local projects including operational performance improvement and adoption of best practice
  • Maintaining HSBC internal control standards, implementing and observing Group Compliance Policy and maintaining awareness of operational risk to minimize the likelihood of it occurring.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this position you will need:
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline highly regarded
  • Extensive Accounts Payable experience including people management experience
  • A proven track record of successful delivery of operations within set SLAs including turnaround time and process improvements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with all levels of stakeholders across local and offshore teams
  • Strong business and commercial awareness and outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Previous experience managing or working with an offshore Accounts Payable or Operations function would be beneficial
